Every certified technician is trained to know that extreme temperatures and seasonal change cause some essential components to lose integrity. Missouri’s hot and humid summers and cold winters are a significant threat to many essential components, including tires, batteries, wiper blades, fluids, and heating and air conditioning systems. This is why we encourage our customers to consider the benefits of fall maintenance in preparing your Toyota for a new season. Our fall preparation multi-point inspection at Pappas Toyota in St. Peters, Missouri is an excellent starting point and will include all of the essential components needed to ensure peak reliability, fuel efficiency, and safety when seasons change.
When it comes to fall preparation maintenance, the starting point is a multi-point inspection:
One of the most important ways to prepare a vehicle for the fall is via a certified technician’s tire inspection. We will inspect for rapid tread wear, measure the remaining tread depth, and check inflation pressures to ensure that your Toyota is safe where the rubber meets the road.
A certified technician will inspect the battery case looking for any disfiguration, fluid leaks, and terminal corrosion. If the battery is in good shape, we will perform a two-part electrical test that measures the reserve capacity held within and cold-cranking amps sent to the engine starter. If a battery fails any portion of the inspection or testing, it will require replacement service to restore specifications.
When wiper blades perform poorly or have visible rubber damage, they simply need to be replaced to restore peak visibility when driving. Because they are safety components, you will want to ensure that your windshield wiper blades are ready for autumn weather. We can have our certified technician remove the old blades and install a set of genuine Toyota OEM wiper blades to restore peak windshield clearing performance.
With fall comes colder weather and the need to use heating components. The ideal way to know that the heater, defroster, seat warmers, and steering wheel warmers are functioning properly when fall arrives is with an HVAC inspection by a certified technician before fall arrives.
